I suggest trying on something similiar to the ones you like in a store (preferably the exact same ones) and seeing if you like how it looks on you. As for me, I already did the "Cinderella" long dream dress thing, and I'm looking for a tea length cocktail dress. I'm not really a long-dress formalware kind of a person. And my groom has already informed me that he'll show up as long as he doesn't have to wear a tux. :-) HTH.
