When meeting the Queen, women should curtsey. What if you're wearing jeans?

Question: isn't it necessary to have a dress or skirt on to curtsey?

Answer: Protocol, especially Royal Protocal has designed the courtesy as the female equivalent of a man bowing to the Queen, or other dignitary. However, should a lady be invited to the Palace, to meet the Queen, I would think that she would be given details of dress code expected for an audience, and jeans most definitely not be included for such an occasion. Wearing jeans to a formal meeting with the Queen would be looked upon as an insult to the crown, which is really what it is. Respect must be shown on these occasions!!!
